Direction Générale des Impôts: Morocco's tax authority, with which you file and pay your taxes (VAT, IR, IS) as a seller.
The DGI, or Direction Générale des Impôts, is Morocco's tax authority. It is where you obtain your tax identifiers, file your returns — VAT, professional IR, or IS depending on your status — and pay your taxes, notably through its online portal, SIMPL.
Example: a seller subject to VAT files a monthly return and then pays the amount due online. As a Wasal seller, you remain solely responsible for your own filings: the platform pays you your earnings net of commission but does not file your taxes on your behalf.
