Picking is the order-preparation step that consists of pulling the right items from the warehouse to assemble the parcel. It is a critical moment: an error in the reference or the quantity translates directly into an unhappy customer.
Example: an order contains two different SKUs; the picker goes to fetch each item at its location, scans it, and then gathers everything into the same parcel.
At the Wasal Fulfillment Center, picking is assisted by AGV robots that bring the shelving racks directly to the operators. The result: preparation in minutes and near-perfect accuracy — every scanned item is tracked from shelf to parcel, with no error of SKU, quantity, or variant.
